Yes Im needing some help as i have a non-reference r9 390x made by Visiontek, i am wanting to find the best cooling for the buck but cannot seem to find any real advice on what to get for it. Closed loop prefered.

Yes, I would change the paste. check the thermal pads, see if they are worn also. There are different thermal tapes, search Newegg, google.https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W046D7311&cm_re=thermal_pad-_-2S7-009N-00010-_-Product This pad looks good.

Also the temperature is getting the highest of 188 farenhieght after a few hours of full load causing my room to heat up much, so this is really needed, but i know for my model its harder to find anything for these, anymore names sites ideas is greatly appreciated.
 
I wouldnt invest any more money into an an R9 series card.
You arent going to gain anything from doing so, and the money would be better put towards a newer, cooler, and faster card.

Watercooling anything less than a current generation flagship is never worth it.

these cards are both the same brand as well,
i would rather buy another 390X card for crossfire before i upgrade unless the High End Vega comes out before my next PC Build

Do you think to bring down the gpu temp to try and put new thermal past on? The card was made back in 2014 could it be in due for new paste maybe as a cheaper option im thinking this to try
