So to fully get to my point, I'm going to have to explain everything that has happened prior to my networking trouble within the last 10 hours of this post.

About 9 months about I had installed a custom bootskin/startup splash screen for when I started my computer. Recently I enabled "Super Admin" and transferred all my stuff from my old user to it. For some reason, the bootskin failed to load after that, and started using what looked like a standard splash loader you might see on like Windows 98. No issues other than that.

I decided early this morning though that I wanted to go ahead and just change it back to the standard Windows 7 splash screen. That was the worst mistake I could have made.

I instantly was forced into a looping startup repair. Having been through a similar, unrelated issue, I put in my windows disk and used the bootrec command prompts, which wasn't working, eventually getting me the "Error 0xc000428" about the boot loader having an invalid signature. Eventually, reactivating the partition and letting startup repair run about 3 times fixed it, setting the loader back to the little windows 98 splash and booting to my desktop. However, none of my network adapter will connect to the internet, bringing me to my current issue.

They don't even connect to the router via ethernet cable. I've tried many of the ipconfig commands trying to diagnose the issue. Running troubleshoot gets me ' "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration ' Setting preferred IP configs and DNS setting either gives me the "Cannot contact DNS Server" or doesn't read any issues at all, yet I'm still not connected. I'm frustrated and guilt tripping myself for doing something risky, knowing I have things to do that need the internet. I'm hoping someone can give me a hand. I'll be as patient as I can and give any logs needed.

My OS System is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

Thank you.

At this point, i would try a clean install honestly. You can lose a lot of time trying to figure out a way to fix it. I think you have already spent enough time on this and you probably need to use your computer. Try a clean install and let us know! Sorry i couldnt be more helpful
After flushing dns, disabling ipv6, and rebooting:

Yup, thats bad..

Setting the mac address on the router clients table should have atleast granted limited connection, since the computer is connected thru the ethernet port..

Also, firewall is disabled

Are you willing to reinstall the OS?

Hello. I know it's early morning for a lot of you, but I was hoping someone might have come up with any other solutions. I may need to clean install windows if I can't fix this here, I have things to do that only my desktop is capable of doing.

Solution
It sure is looking like some corrupted driver that has installed incorrectly.

Issue arp -a
What you are looking for is the mapping for the gateway ip. You can try a ping command on the gateway which should force a ARP.

Generally if you get arp but not ping it means the something like a firewall is blocking traffic at the ip level. When you get arp entries it means you pc can send traffic into the network and get a response so the driver and such are working.

When you do not even get responses to ARP it is broken at a very fundamental level. Normally I would load drivers but you have have tried that.

You can in desperation put in static arp entries for the gateway ip mapping it to the router mac address. Likely it will make no difference but something to try before you take the nuclear option to the machine.

It seems that the already limited network capabilities of win7 32bit, combined with altering user account permissions may have caused the OS to deny administrator privileges altogether.

Basically ports that allow communication hit a brick wall, and chages in the system settings dont take effect.

Probably...

Thats what I can gather about that "super admin" thing..

Super admin is the Default System Administrator (When you run something as administrator, you're running it through that account's privileges). When enabled for use it's used like a normal user account. I've uninstalled, removed and reinstalled drivers, to no avail. As for the ports, idk why they'd suddenly close within 24 hours of me breaking my logon. Nothing changed in my router and "(so far as I can tell) nothing had changed in my windows firewall (which had been disabled anyway).

I did a clean install though and things are working again. I do appreciate everyone's help here, I at least leaned a lot of useful information. Thank you.
