Hi,
I moved houses about a month ago and also got a new modem/router to replace my old one, but the wireless connection to where my PC is is terrible, so I bought an Ethernet cable to go wired, but have had a heap of problems.

I first needed to download a driver for my Ethernet port as I didn't have one and after fixing that and being able to detect the cable, the wired network is listed as an "Unidentified network", public and I can't get internet access through it.

Trying to troubleshoot the problem tells me the connection has an invalid IP configuration, and I haven't been able to find a solution on this website or another.

The old wireless connection still works fine and I've been swapping between wireless and wired trying to solve the issue.

I'm running a Belkin AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Modem Router, model F9J1106 v4, Asrock Z77 Pro3 Motherboard and my internet connection is ADSL 2+.

Any help/replies are appreciated.
