An E Clip has come off an assembly on my Shadow. I cannot find the clip in
the cabinet. It must be in there somewhere :)

Would Home Depot / Lowes carry an equivelent? If not, what online sources
would have them? It is a small one, for a part that is about 1/4 inch.

Thanks,
Rob

They should have an E or C that will work. LTG :)

Try your local auto parts house too, Rob.

The local ACE hardware here has a pretty good selection of these.

I have had good luck picking these up at places that specialize in
power tools. Not necessarily Home Depot (although I did not look
there) but rather a local guy that distributes better quality hand
power tools. I have also found them at auto parts stores and appliance
parts stores.

I've got every size "E" clip as well as the wire spring clips and those
"Poodle Head" clips Bally used. I just need to get organizized and put
them up on the website! Roll pins too!

you went to WHERE? home teapot? Hoes? those are NOT hardware
stores. those are wanna-be girl stores. go to a REAL hardware
store. real hardware stores have WOOD floor (no finish!) not
concrete. And there are NO female "sales assistants". There some
old geek with a dirty shop coat reading your mind as you walk
into the store and creek on those floors.

I know this isn't local but it'll save you time next time.

http://www.harborfreight.com/

Harborfreight has some great assortments of stuff like E clips and
such. Type "assortment" in the search and you'll find a few. I know
they have more listed in their catalog so order that and have a look.
We also have a local place called Northern Tool and Equipment that
carrys this stuff also.

I've ordered every assortment of anything they have over the years and
they've come in quite handy. Nothing worst then having to stop what
you're doing and run to the hardware store for a .05 item. 🙂

Here in western Washington state there's the great TACOMA SCREW
stores---they've got lots of fasteners of all types.

Mcmaster-Carr online is cheap for large quantity (few dollars for a
hundred) and you'll have enough for very long time.

Does anyone know the size of hairpin clips that Williams uses (such as
on slingshot assy)? The manual doesn't give a specific size.

They might, but your local NAPA auto parts place is more likely to have
a selection of small ones.

Rob,
Home depot will indeed have them. They will be in the hardware aisle
with all the screws. You should find a cabinet with a bunch of thin
drawers in that aisle. The e and c clips will be in one of those
drawers.
