locked at 185fps

I have a Gtx 1080ti sc2 and was getting around 400fps, then out of the blue it gets capped to 185fps? I have checked everything and made sure v-sync was off. even going to the nvidia control panel and trying all options for vertical sync.. they're are no differences except screen taring. and yes I have tried uninstalling my drivers and using older versions none work.

System specs? Sounds like throttling have you checked temps?

Disable game bar or remove it. Sometimes just disabling isnt enough.

Another thing that may help in disabling game bar/XBOX doesn't help: If you are on Windows 10 and use desktop shortcuts to start your games then right click the shortcut -> properties - > compatiblity -> check the box to disable full screen optimizations - > apply.

Yep try that first in the compatibility tab, fullscreen optimisation is part of game bar so disabling game bar to disable fullscreen opt should work (if its the problem) but not always. So force it first as jr9 says then maybe look at uninstalling game bar for good.

Full screen optimisation is a blend between full and borderless screen. A lot of games are played in either borderless window or full screen, not both same time. My suspicion for a while is that's whats aiding to poor or weird performance for a lot of people but need more confirmation.
