Hey guys,
My GF's son bought his mom a used MacBook Air for Xmas. It still had some personal stuff from the previous owner, so I felt safer doing a complete wipe of the device so she could use it like it was band new.
I Googled how to return a Mac to factory and found the instructions on how to do that on the Apple forums. I used Disk Utility to erase the drives it said to in the instructions, then proceeded to reinstall the OS. Except each time i tried it would end in a failure.
It's as if the system is no longer seeing the SSD. I'm leaning towards this being a logical failure over a physical one, but lack the tools/knowledge in helping the system re-identify the SSD. Please see the images linked below so we know what I'm able to see in Disk Utility.

I'm grateful to whoever might be willing to take a stab at this.
Happy Holidays!
