I have owned the G5, G400, G500s and G500. I guess I really like the shape. I needed to upgrade due to sensor starting to go out on the G500 and went with the G502. I was really surprised how it felt and didn't like it.

The G502 is narrow and seemed to have a weird resting place for my thumb. There is also a DPI Shift button, which seems like a great idea, however this button protrudes and makes the thumb have no place to rest.

I still looking for a new mouse and have recently bought and returned the SS Rival 300, and now a Zowie EC2-A, which I'm not sure if I'm in love with as the palm feels too wide and there isnt any software with the mouse..

I'm thinking of giving the G402, G303, and G403 a whirl. I'm doing it all through amazon so its been fairly easy to return thus far. Any advice would be appreciated.

I feel like my biggest problem lately is I've been looking for mice that mimic the same ergonomics as the previous mice, but keep getting burned as the shapes just dont feel right. I'd consider the g500 to have a big shape whereas there are mice with lesser risky shapes. Maybe I should look into these?

Solution
I would not go with the G402. The mouse shape is too narrow (just like the G502) compared to my old MX518 and G5 v2; it gave me hand cramps after a half hour of gaming.

I brought the Dream Machines DM1 Pro S from the manufacturer's site for $49.99 (no tax and free shipping in the US) and it's feels way more comfortable than the G402. It has the same shape as the SteelSeries Sensei. You might want to take a look at it and read the reviews online.

Rocket Jump Ninja is a good site for in-depth reviews http://www.rocketjumpninja.com/top-20/

If you really want to be safe then just order the Logitech G500s from Amazon for $45, but I don't know about the warranty for it.

Sorry I actually didnt put that in, yes I have owned that as well. I'm wanting to venture out into better hardware. So better sensors would be great. I dont want to get into discontinued mice as they wont be supported anymore.

Good advice. I'd like to get a newer mouse though with the latest sensor. So I'm sorta leaning towards an FK1 FK2 (no idea which size i'll like better) or a g303, or maybe another smaller mouse.
