12K dpi is not only for the kid who want high numbers, a high dpi also improves the responses at lower dpi-settings.
but what is a better update imho is the side button placement, they are now shifted.
Next thing to do is to wait the G702 version then.

is it heavier than G500 without weight? i'm using G500 and it's really heavy for me and uncomfortable and i'm thinking about buying it if it's lighter.

I won't get any mouse from logitech unless it's verified that their sensors no longer have built in (non disable able) mouse acceleration like the G9X had.

There is no acceleration in the G9x as far as I understand as long as you disable it in setpoint plus use the CPL mousefix in Windows.

I have been using mine for about 2 weeks now and really like it. I loaded it up with all the weight since I prefer a heavier fell and dumbed down the sensitivity since at the higher levels it was a mouse point on crack, speed and molly. Too much for me.

Overall I really like this mouse. Good purchase for me (although again I am not taking advantage of the insane DPI).

This sensor is great, not because of the high max DPI though. Before this mouse, every sensor with above 3,000 DPI had significant sensor lag, aka smoothing. The g502 does not. Also, even mice with the gold standard 3090 sensor still had some acceleration and pixel loss at high speeds, the sensor the g502 has does not. The g502 also has unprecedented max perfect control speed and a very low lod when you tune it for your mouspad. Finally it has native dpi steps every 50 dpi step from 200dpi to 12,000 so it will perform brilliantly at any dpi you want to play at. Basically mouse manufactures over the years have sacrificed performance to better marketable stats for the masses, like working hard on obtaining insane DPIs and this is the first sensor that has good marketable stats without sacrificing the performance enthusiasts desire.

high dpi does not improve responsiveness. The only benefits to high dpi is when you aren't in first or third person and you have extremely high resolution. like 4k or higher. In first person shooters, mouse counts move small degrees so resolution has nothing to do with sensitivity. High DPI is only included in mice because marketing teams tell the engineers higher DPI sells better. Higher DPI usually means smoothing to counter jitter which usually means the sensor is less responsive, so 99% of the time higher DPI actually means the opposite of what you think it means. The g502 is the exception and has zero smoothing even though it has high dpi with its' sensor's revolutionary design.

can i get a left handed version of this..... of course not.. leftys dont exist to the manufacturers of mice :/

make it ambidextrous ya cheap bastids! and quit using clicky buttons and use buttons like a gamepad aleady!! nice silent bottons.

No one wants "gamepad" buttons on a mouse, they suck hard and they will make ur life miserable. Mechanical is the way to go for both keyboards and mice.

I got this mouse a month ago and it was a huge upgrade from my old Logitech G5, the grip, the handling, everything seems soo much better on it, as well as the clicking.
