For me i find this keyboard ugly as hell and i don`t see the point in having only few macro keys .... have been using G11 for gaming and software for some years now and i find it`s 18 G keys very usefull.. having only 6 programable keys is not appealing to me.

this is how G11 can bind keys for Adobe Premiere Pro ... it makes your work a lot easyer not having to move everywhere with your hands on the keyboar... so i still don`t get it why they dropped this ideea of having lots of programable keys at one hand.

[citation][nom]josejones[/nom]I've been looking around for a new keyboard that would also be good for gaming but, $150 and I've seen others up to $250 - that's just completely insane. Why so damn expensive?New Keyboard & Mouse - what would you get??? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] oard-mouse[/citation]

keyboard, it depends on your preference, i recommend a das keyboard, i want professional because it has laser etched keys, you can get one with no lettering at all.

i recommend against anything gamer, but if you want hotkeys you need gamer, so in the hot key category, i recommend Vengeance K60. it uses res switches, non tactile and light press, for all the main keyboard letters and numbers, the arrows, and the num pad i believe, the f keys the home end area, and the hotkeys are all rubber dome. i would get that keyboard if they offered the home end area and the rest of what i said had mechanical keys in blue, but because i wont budge, i limited myself.

as for mouse, i use razor naga, but the logitech mmo 12 button pad mouse is also really good. if i didnt have the naga, i would have went logitech, but the feel of the naga... i cant use the logitech anymore. those 12 buttons, like the person above, are not used in games for me, but for web browsing.

Why do they always make gaming keyboards so freaking big. I always buy and use a 88 key. It has a nice small footprint and plenty of keys for almost any game.

there found you several keyboards that dont have num pads, extra keys, and is more than a few cases, are only good for typeing.

all mechanical,
all high quality

though i require a full keyboard, num pad, f keys and such, some people dont. i would never use them, but i wont tell you to not use them.

and the reason that gaming keyboards are bigger, as in plastic size not full keyboard, is because style... thats really the only way to separate yourself from everyone else when you are only useing rubber dome.

when you get to mechanical, again, if you want to go cheap make, you have to go style over substance to get gamers.

[citation][nom]xbeater[/nom]They already mentioned, they are MX Brown switches![/citation]

Not in the article above they didn't. I like the idea though. Too many mechanical kb's are really noisy. Gotta wait for my 1st gen G15 to die though (not sure why ppl hate on em so much coz mine is still lookin brand new after 8 years hard use).

really people complain to much about the blue switches noise.

it honestly isnt that bad. my rubber dome honestly is louder than the blue keys, its mostly due to a loose space and enter key...

go to a best buy by you, many of them stock the black widow from razor. and they have a few keys you can press so you can get an idea on the noise, it may be preference for less noise, but i would reccomend trying it to see if its tolerable.

no sense in limiting yourself if if the noise level doesn't bug you.

No sense in hitting some keys in a big warehouse. The noise won't register until you're at home and your wife is sleeping in the bed at your side and you're clickity clacking through out the early hours of morning or late night.

The browns with o rings, like the logitech g710+ has is the quietest mechanical keyboard you can get with the price range. I love that it included the macro buttons. This keyboard offers everything i could hope for in a keyboard.
