Logitech Wireless Keyboard

Question:
I'm considering the logitech wireless keyboard / mouse, and was wondering:

1) How long do the batteries really last? That is currently my biggest concern, as I'm not in the mood for shelling out every month for new batteries.

2) How compatible is it with Windows XP?

Are you looking at the set of the optical mouse and the black keyboard? I have that mouse and the iTouch keyboard. I got a message that the keyboard batteries were low and needed to be replaced about a month and a half ago. Maybe I should actually change them sometime.

I've been going for about 5 months on these batteries, the ones in my mouse lasted for about 4 months.

Batteries: It depends on how often you use them. My friend has the wireless logitech internet kb, ball mouse and hasn't replace his batteries for about a year, but he doesn't always use his computer.
