Hi,

I own the MSI z97m Gaming motherboard which says it supports 7.2 audio. My wife bought me a set of Logitech z506 surround sound speakers for Christmas this year and I'm having trouble getting them all to work.

This is what the back of my panel looks like:

The speakers came with three wires to hook up to the computer. They are Green, Black and Orange. So far the best I've gotten are all speakers besides my front left to work.

Black- RS Out
Orange- CS Out
Green- Line Out

With that setup all but my front left speaker works. I was reading and someone said to put the Black wire into the "SS-Out" input. This makes my rear speakers not work at all and my fronts don't work either.

I've tried so many different ways idk what to do. I know for a fact the front-left speaker does work because I tested it.

Thank you for any help.

Solution
Check both Green and Black cables in the top, right port of your motherboard (rear L/R). If they both sound the same and equal audio from both speakers, then yes, I would say you have a faulty sound card.

Thanks for the reply but it didn't answer anything I already didn't know...The manual states:

Can someone clarify what the Black/Orange and Green wires do from the Logitech speaker set?

Audio Ports
These connectors are used for audio devices.
Line in: Used for connecting external audio outputting devices.
Line out: Used as a connector for speakers or headphone.
Mic: Used as a connector for a microphone.
RS-Out: Rear surround sound line out in 4/ 5.1/ 7.1 channel mode.
CS-Out: Center/ subwoofer line out in 5.1/ 7.1 channel mode.
SS-Out: Side surround sound line out in 7.1 channel mode.

Thank you. That's how I have it setup but my front left speaker isn't working and the sound for it is quiet and is actually coming from the rear left when I test on my Realtek program. Any idea?

Thanks, Wolf. I'm at work right now but I'll swap the green and black cables when I get home tonight and let you know. I already uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled new ones. My MOBO has both Realtek and Sound Blaster, which program should I use? I believe they run off the same drivers but the Sound Blaster is just an extra tool...

Thanks

Still no go, swapped cables (and changed them on the sub itself, everything but front left speaker (slightly coming out of back left). Possible bad sound card?
