Hi,

I have a NT domain with 2 servers (NT 4.0 PDC and BDC). When I try
to logon with any user (Administrator too) at Win9x clients, it works fine.
But when I try to logon at XP clients with the same user, an error message
like this appears:
"There's no available domain servers to make the authentication or
user/password are incorrect..."
Weird is when I shutdown the BDC and try to logon in the NT domain
again at the XP client, it works fine. Why does it happens? And the most
important, how do I resolve this?
Thanks.

Possible the BDC is out of sync with PDC. Try syncing the BDC with the PDC;

From the BDC at command line type: Net Accounts /sync
- Check event viewer to make sure all databases sync successfully

Your NT domain controllers must be using NT SP6a for XP clients to
authenticate properly. It sounds like your PDC is on SP6a and your BDC is on
an earlier service pack. We had the same issue when the PDC was on SP6a and
the BDC was on SP5. As soon as we patched the BDC every one started working.
