I've been having long bios times/load times for the past few days. I recently upgraded my cpu and motherboard and for the first two or so boots on newly wiped components were really fast. But when I connected my other 2 drives to the computer (both wiped as well) and my last bios and boot times shot up to half a minute each. Is there anything I can do to shorten this? Thank you!

I am thinking it is spinning them up at start up and thus the longer wait time. Formatting them may help.
That could be it. My motherboards error light for "cpu dram" does flash orange whenever booting for a while before turning red, then green then white and booting. I dont really feel like reinstalling all of my steam library with my speeds so id rather try something else before reformatting them fully.

Try using one stick of ram at a time and see if the boot times change with each stick.
I tried, Changed the boot times by a second or so on only one of them. tried both sticks in alone and boot times were always the same ±1 second difference. 36 second last boot time been the same since plugging in the two ssd's.

Unplug the ssd's if the problem goes away test one ssd at a time.
When the older drive is disconnected the boot time is faster. i dont want to stop using it even though i could live without it. is there anything i could do to it to improve boot times somehow or should i just cut my losses and get a new one?

Are you sure it's the drive and not a cable or connection or port on the mobo?
It could be but i dont know why a seperate drive with nothing but games would affect the boot times
You listed two 860 evo SSDs, one is slowest. Is there anything different about that ssd, files, health, blank etc?
One other thought is your bios up to date?
the first 860 was one i bought back in 2019 for my first computer. it had my original OS all the way until i upgraded this week when i wiped it clean for the new build using diskpart. the other was bought in 2022 or so and has always just been a game storage drive.

How often do you restart your pc?

Personally - I couldn't care less, if boot time was +30s or -30s.
Since my pc gets restarted may be couple times per month.
i shut down my pc each night. I remember people saying its better for the pc to not be on 24/7 or be in sleep mode so its been a habit to shut down my pc each night. the time itself isnt really an issue but more of a question on why its happening. if its fixable without anything major being done itd be nice but i can live with a 30 second boot. thats how my pc was for the past 2 years or so.

Ive been gone for a bit because of life. ive tried both having the good drive in and the bad one with changing the cables but it seems like the issue isnt stopping. ive noticed the warning LEDs on boot always go to orange on dram for ~20 seconds before turning green, then white and booting normally. my ram works normally and there hasnt been any issues but i enabled expo1 on them. i dont really get whats going on but i guess im just cursed with a 30 second startup time
