Question Long steady beep after CPU upgrade ?

I upgraded the CPU in my Acer Predator G3 from an i5-7400 to an i7-7700 but when I go to turn it on it makes a single continuous beep. I tried putting the i5-7400 back in but now instead of turning on it just turns on and off repeatedly. I put the i7 back in, tried reseating the ram and also tried different ram.

Inspect the CPU socket for any bent or broken pins. To also add, did you make sure the motherboard's BIOS was updated while on the prior processor(that came out of the box) before you swapped the i5 to the i7?

I didn't check the BIOS, I'd just assumed since they're both 7th gen that it would work but I'll check for bent pins
