Hi and thanks in advance for any and all help.

I'm looking to build an economical system that can still handle decent stats crunching but really, also be solid for games. Here's what i've put together:

CPU: Core i5-4670K
Mobo: ASRock B85M-GL
Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB
HD: Seagate ST1000DM003
PSU: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

I'm looking to get the basics ordered and then when I get a little more cash, add a video card. I'm wondering if my PSU is ok or am i overdoing it and, even if i'm not planning on over clocking, should i get some sort of cooling unit?

Thanks!

Solution
since you are using a b85 and since you arent overclocking go with a non k designator i5 like the 4670 or to save some cash a 4440 and will perform pretty much the same. make sure the ram is a 2x4gb setup with a cas latency of 9 and 1600 speed with 1.5v
hdd should be 7200rpm or an ssd would be a good thing for you for stats crunching the psu is fine fr adding a highend graphic card later on
do you also need a case/os/disk drive?

Thanks everyone for your feedback, esp around overclocking. I guess I need to figure out if I want to upgrade the mobo so i can overclock down the road (and add a cooler) or if I should downgrade the CPU. Really do appreciate the feedback.
