I have no idea if such a device even exists but here goes...

I have a Toshiba PDR M500 Digital amera whicj I just love.

However for close-ups (insects, blossoms, etc) the lense takes forever and a
day to give the green go ahead to take a focussed shot. Usually the insect
is long gone, hence nice shots of blooms)

There is a 52 mm threaded cowling, or lense adaptor, that comes with the
camera for adding extra lenses and filters, etc.

However all the manual zoom lenses come with the insert and click type snap
on fitting at the end of the lense.

Has anyone run across and adaptor or a manual zoom lense that comes with a
52 mm thread?

Thank you

Lex

Of course.
For a 52 mm lens thread.

Are you sure the camera does not have a Macro mode?
Check your manual for Macro mode.
