Hello there,

My pc is suddenly death (socket 1156..) and so I have to build a new one with a €3000/€3500 budget. (Italy)
The budget is so high 'cause I expect it to live a long life without the problem of upgrading anything.

But here we are, all I know is the resolution I wouldlike to use (2K or 4K) at higher refresh rates.
Obviously what I have to accomplish with it is gaming but also production.

24101ad.png

So, for fps titles I'm usually competitive and for my budget I wouldlike to get "the best" as performance while for WoW, The Witcher 3 or Sea of Thieves I would get the best in terms of "image quality" and graphics

As concerns productions, instead, I code a lot and so I was often in troubles while switching between IDEs or with some windows constraints of IDE like Unreal Engine 4 in which I can't use the window behind if I don't close or move the one opened above.
The challenge here is just to help me to handle as more windows as possibile all together.
Ah, I don't mind at the moment but rarely I also stream my games (nothing serious tho)

So, around this I tried to figure out which build could be usefull for me, using also some guides here, but unlucky I discovered only the mouse

------ Build (I'll keep this updated) ------

Ideal choice is 9900k but crazy expensive. The 4k monitor is for production while the 1440p 144hz gsync is for gaming.

So we can get something closer to home within the EU... what country do you call home?

Italy, sorry. Added now at the main.

Returning to your proposals I have some questions:

- Ryzen 7 2700x is a nice cpu, as I heard. Great value per performances but if I want to apply some oc, which cpu cooler could I choose?
- In the suggested monitors (not for the 4k @60) it seems there isn't the g-sync. Could it affect in any way myself during gaming sessions?
- Memory are 3200mhz CL16, right? aren't CL14 way better for ryzen? Moreover with the x470 boards is there a possibility in which I can't reach by enabling xmp profiles the target speed of 3200mhz?

Okay... based from Italian resellers:

Yes, this is a little over... but if there is something you already have paid for, you can remove it... something you will bring over from another build...

Dual or even triple monitors are great for developer work, as is a good amount of memory... The monitors will get 2k (1440p) at a high refresh rate on the ROG.
(I have that ASUS ROG monitor at home and I love it.)

EDIT: Here is an AMD offering to compare to

Well! Thank you all for your suggestions!
I have updated the first thread trying to merge everything.
I just miss ssd storage and motherboard I guess.. (ah, no keyboard or headphones required. For keyboard I'll try to figure out which one suits me IRL while for headphones I remember I bought some Logitech G430.. so they should be fine)

Notes:

  • ■I was suggested also an 8700k build.. is it still worth since now the 9700k/9900k are gonna be released?
■Between these mobo which one could be the best as price/performance? Gigabyte AORUS GAMING 7 or MSI GAMING PRO CARBON, both x470 .. I read that gigabyte vrms have some problems that could harm my whole system if overclocked.
    ■970 evo or sx8200?
    ■x62 or ml240l rgb?
■Is it worth to buy some 4000+ mhz ram sticks? So I could oc them or at least try to get them stable at 3600mhz c14 or 3800mhz

For @Lucky_SLS, you suggested me a RX VEGA 64. That would be great, but isn't that not supposed to run games at 144hz on 2K?

Vega 64 is a bit better or equal to the gtx 1080. It can handle 2k 144hz, but the gtx 1080ti is more future proofed.

If the sx8200 is significantly cheaper, go for it.

Gaming pro carbon is a fine mobo. Not much overclocking is needed in ryzen cuz the stock boost frequency gives the highest clocks. So the gaming pro carbon is perfectly fine.

X62 performs better and looks better. But If you can get the mr 240 rgb from coolermaster, it performs better than the kraken.

Looking at the games you play, the 9700/9900k is really not required and it definitely is not worth the price premium.

And sincere the display is g sync, no need to worry about getting constant 120fps

So if you don't really mind that ultrawide screen :
