Hello. At this moment i have an intel core i3 6098P cpu but i feel it is time for an upgrade. Could you recommend me a good intel cpu? I've been looking for a month now for one but the only option i came up with was an i7 7700k. Or maybe i should get a new mobo and an even better cpu?
Also, i want it to be quad-core
My mobo: Asus H110M-R
Socket: lga 1151
Chipset: intel h110
Thank you.

What's your budget?

For less then the price of a 7700K you could buy a i5-8400 Six core & Z370 motherboard.
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor ($178.90 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $278.89
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If you can afford more then I'd go with the i5-8600K & Cryorig H7 cooler for overclocking.

Hi there, if you are on a budget but want a good and fast CPU that is new then go for a 8400 which is a 6 core CPU. If you have more money that that then go for the 8700 (non K) as it is a very good CPU boosting to 4.6Ghz. If you want the best then I would go for the 8700K. Honorable mention goes to the 7700k which is still a very very good CPU. I know I have one if you check my specs in my profile you will see what I went with but it was before the 8th gen CPUs were available. And the 7700k is still very fast and even faster in same games than the 8700k according to reviews.

In summary go for 8th generation. Go for hex (6) cores not quad (4) for future proofing. Best value for gaming 8400 then 8700 then 8700k (fastest but most expensive with diminishing returns)

My budget limit would be 322 EUR or my patience of getting 35 eur per month...Of course there will be easter and final exams in which i will get more money but there is a long time to wait for that...but i can wait...So i am looking for as good as possible under 322 EUR (mobo+cpu)
But thanks anyways...for now what you said is on top of my list.
