Mr_Jake :
They only have 3 pin female plugs on them. So I was hoping that someone could reccomend a good adaptor so that my motherboard could control the speed via a 4 pin female connector.
That will not work, the fans are missing the 4th cable which is the "pwm" cable which is necessary to controll the speed. You might be able to controol the speed via software like asus "q-fan" software, but you don't necessarely need a 4pin for that, you could use a cable extender
Three pin plugs can go onto four pin headers.
Google "pwm" if you don't know what it means.Wkipidia has probably something to say about it.
Mr_Jake :
Also it would need to make the cable longer since the cheap ones are only 6 inches long.
EDIT - Would this work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812189119
No it wouldn't,that is a molex connector which can't be plugged onto the motherboard via de headers normally used for fans.
Look for something like the " Bitfenix,Alchemy Cables->Fan cable extensions",
http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/premium-modding/alchemy-cables
right at the top under "Cable Types",click buy for resellers.Or google for those.
For instance in the Netherlands,

or German,
