Looking for a good motherboard for overclocking my i5 4670k

z87-a
4670k
Asus Gtx 770
16gb gskill ddr3 cl9 (but only using 8 atm due to failed ram slot)

Looking to replace this motherboard to make use of all my ram. Had the Asus z87-pro in mind as I am fairly comfortable with Asus products but I am having trouble finding any places locally that are carrying it. Considered the maximus vi formula but don't want to spend quite that much. Currently only seeing the Asus z87 gryphon or the formula in stores. Would prefer an atx to a matx

Most of those models have been discontinued for some time. AsRock still has one Z97 available. You may find something on eBay listed under LGA 1150 motherboards.

Will there be any difference between using one with the z87 chipset?

Z97 has SATA Express, and M.2 capabilities, other than that, its is identical to the Z87 chipset.

For Z87, ATX mb is more than 260

i am using the same CPU on my Asus Ranger VII Board and i have overclocked it till @4.4 i have not pushed my cpu more then that the
Asus Ranger VII is a good board see if you can find that one in your area

This only thing i hate is the PC parts we are buying today and every year comes new generation of board and CPu but after 2-3 years if we needed to buy the part for your systems not possible as they dont manufacture any more thats bad its what i think

Suppose if my CPU or board gets dead today then i have no choice to buy there replacement parts i have to get everything new

I have only ever had experience overclocking asus boards and am fairly new to it. Had the ez mode on in bios and did asus optimal to achieve the 4.2ghz will it be fairly easy to do the same with the asrock?

So I am considering increasing the budget but unsure if I really need to. I think I am down to deciding between the z97-a Or the maximus vi formula but the maximus is 100$ more than the z97-a. I don't plan to replace the cpu mobo combo for at least 2-3 years after this maybe 4 If it keeps holding up.
