Okay, so the developers of GTA V have recently announced the minimum and recommended specs for the PC version. Me and my friends have waited a long time for this, but I'm scared I won't be able to run it. My pc is pretty old, and my current graphics card is very bad (It's an NVIDIA GeForce GT 220) and I'm looking to for a graphics card that will be able to play GT V PC for under 80 euros. I've looked at the GT730, which I think will be able to run it and the GT9800, which is required to meet GTA V's minimum specs. If my research is correct, I'll be able to just about meet the minimum specs. Please help me find a graphics card that will be able to run the game!

GTA V Minimum Specs:
Minimum specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
Memory: 4GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
HDD Space: 65GB
DVD Drive

My Specs:
- OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
- Processor: Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67GHz (Lynnfield 45nm Technologie)
- Memory: 4,00 GB Dual-Canal DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
- Motherboard: Packard Bell FMP55 (CPU 1) 37 °C
- Graphics: SyncMaster (1920x1080@59Hz) 1024MBGeForce GT 220 (Sapphire/PCPartner)

If you need any more information, please tell me!

(PS. There seems to be no specific forum for PCs, so I'm posting this here. Please tell me if this thread has to be posted elsewhere)

Thanks in advance! :)

Yet it runs on consoles which have similar architecture to the PC and probably on medium too (ps4 and xbox1). It'll be fine. Few journalists have already said that for Ultra settings, 4k in 60fps...you'll need gtx 980 in SLI. That's what they played on. Therefore Single GtX980 Should be able to run the game in ultra + 1080p. With my TRIX r9 290 I will probably get high/some ultra settings on 1080p with around 50+fps, at least that's what it seems like if we compare every other card to the performance of a GTX980.

Hello im far from a pc expert just got in to pc gaming all i have is a amd x4 740 3.2 GHz and 8gb of ram an a 750 gtx can i push around 40-30 fps? i play far cry 4 with high setting enhanced nvidia shadows godrays with 40-50 stable fps

The minimum recommended card has 1GB of VRAM and 112 CUDA cores (assuming you are looking at the NVidia flavor). I would not undershoot either one of those specs. The GT 730 doubles both of those, so you should be able to run GTA V with that. Note that "running the game" and "playing the game smoothly" are two very different things, and you will be making a gamble on the GT 730.

Honestly, I think you would be shooting yourself in the foot by buying such a dated piece of hardware. You would be better off doubling down and buying the recommended GTX 660, as this is guaranteed by Rockstar to run the game smoothly and has about 4x the processing power of a GT 730 for about twice the cost. I understand if you do not want to drop the money upfront, but the GT 730 will struggle with most modern releases and you will need to spend the money on an upgrade sooner or later anyhow.

Newegg has the ASUS GTX 660 for $185. I have two ASUS GTX 770s in my rig (which uses the exact same DirectCU-II heatsink) and they have worked phenomenally- they run cool, quiet, and stable. You could maybe squeak by with the GT 730, but I ultimately recommend the GTX 660. The GTX 650 is slightly cheaper, but not cheap enough to justify the much weaker specs.

Sorry but that is complete rubbish, I play on a 660 at almost max settings at 60fps 1080p.

Sorry, are you trolling?

What processor would recommend and where can I get low price deal on a gtx 660?
[/quotemsg]

I would recommend an Intel i5-4690K, and just go on Amazon to get a decent deal on the 660, about $140 or something cheap for the card itself :)

Dont talk fuckin shit, you can run this game with FX 6300 and 750ti easily in 720p if you want 1080p you need 760 and some better i5, dont be an pessimist idiot, on this rig you can run it in fuckin 60fps at any resolution!

I am sorry, but you cant be more wrong, I have a GTX 650 1Gb Vmemory, i run gta 5 lowest settings with 60-100 fps. Vsync OFF

Are you on Drugs? I played GTA 5 with just only a gt 730 with low to medium settings...and it runs the game without a hitch..

Yo Jospeh are u *king kidding me? You just OVERSIZED everything... I Have
I5 3470 3.20 GHZ
GTX 650 Ti 1 GB
8 RAM
500 HDD 7200RPM
And I run this game at minimum with 16x anisotropic filtering and very high quality of grass at 60fps + in city.. Outside where its desert or hills I get from 100 to 130 fps... This game is PERFECTLY optimized. Let's take Far Cry 4 for example when it came out its optimization was terrible.. Now with newer patch when they improved it a little bit I get 10-15 fps more and they really should keep improving it. Yes at first I thought that WOW I will need a beastly pc to run this beautiful GTA 5 game and the game left very nice impressions to me.

Hey Justin. This is very wrong. I am on the higher end of Normal (medium) with a 2gb 760 and I get 60 just fine. I am actually about to get a 980 today (4gb) to bump the game to High/Ultra.

i7-4790 (4.0ghz stock)
16 gigs 1833mhz
760 stock (zotac brand)

I think the advice you are receiving here is sub par. Better check with other professionals almost anywhere other then this specific place.

NO!
i have a 770 and i can play all max with 2x msaa and have 60 fps and in 4k i can play ultra with 30+ fps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

are u mad? gtx 770 is 34000 inr and in max settings it requires 660x its just 22000
so we can get max performance with 22000 and u saying gtx 770 is minimum....haha noobish

I am running fairly high settings in GTA V with a 650 TI i gig. I cant run ultra since it is 2 mb above mine apparently BUT runs great no lag or hiccups.

I have a Evga 650TI 1gig
a Fatality Professional board, 8 gigs of ddr3 Windows 7 6x bit and a a intel Quad Core i5 3570

No overclocking no SLI just a normal rig.

That's not correct. you can play GTA 5 on less then minimum req. i Am playing GTA 4 on AMD sempron 140 2.8ghz, GPU- GeForce 210, 2 gb ram, 250 gb hard disc on medium setting without any fps lags and GTA 4 requires minimum dual core 3ghz processor. And mine is not dual core. So i think you can play GTA 5 less then minimum req on low settings.

Laptop here, i7 quad core 2.4ghz with boost to 3.4ghz. 8GB RAM,1GB nividia GT 750m. I can run the game in either medium settings @ 40-60 fps, or I can run the game in med-low settings @ 60-110 fps

That is just not true. I run a GTX 560 and get a very playable 45 FPS on average on medium settings with some antialiasing. I have an i5 and 16 gb of RAM. Soon I hope to get a 970 which will undoubtedly max out the game.

I am playing GTA 5 on a 7670m with some settings on high and others on normal with 16 antistropic filtering and FXAA and V sync on . I play it on full resolution and am able to get 40+ fps.

Wow joseph now dont u feel stupid

WhatTijmenDimple answered in his first post is total bullshit.

I have R9 270X w/ 2GB VRAM, and with slightly reduced settings and by using normal textures I'm getting a framerates between ~80(+- 20) FPS. When using high textures the VRAM limit will be exceeded, but the game can still be run without hickups if some virtual memory is allocated from the SSD. I found this tip on Reddit and applied it on my PC: http://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/33uu71/my_fpsstuttering_solution_fx8350_2x_r9_270x/
