Looking for a laptop for a Software Engineering student.

I need to get a laptop for college and decided to buy the 14" yoga 710 with an i5 and a 940mx.
It was pretty much perfect for my light gaming but now the version with the discrete GPU has been discontinued in the Kaby lake generation.
So i am looking for a similar slim and light 13.3"/14" laptop with an okay GPU under $1000.
Please help me out guys.

PS- Dont need a powerful gpu cause i have my desktop for that.

Thank you for the suggestion but my desktop has a 970 so i don't need that much power in the laptop.
It certainly is a great machine though.

Thank you for the suggestion but my desktop has a 970 so i don't need that much power in the laptop.

setting aside the lack of an SSD (which is criminal in 2016), the OP was pretty clear 1k was his max, and he didn't really want a gaming laptop, just one that could game.

If the one I suggested for the op was 13' and not 15' I think that one would be perfect for what the op wants.
