looking for a laptop not for gaming

i5 8th generation 4gb ram or i5 7th generation 8gb ram
which one should I buy? not for gaming

Every other spec being the same, I'd get the newer CPU and just add another 4gb of RAM to it. You can add more RAM, you can't change the CPU.
