I've spent a couple days doing research and all the opinions out there are making my head spin... so i'd like some help, please.
I'm looking for a windows laptop, I can't stand Apple.
1. What is your budget?
Roughly $1200, no higher than $1500
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Hoping to find a decent 17, but 15 is totally fine.
3. What screen resolution do you want?
I've dabbled with 4k builds, but they don't really seem necessary.
So... 1920x1080?
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
A little bit of both?
5. How much battery life do you need?
I don't think I've seen anything under 6, that should be fine.
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Nah, but everything I've read... gaming PCs seem the way to go.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Graphic design software... so Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Inkscape, etc
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
1TB is fine.
I've been looking at the SSD/HDD combos.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No specifics that I HAVE to purchase from.
But I have been looking around amazon, newegg, lenovo and sagernotebook
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
4 to 5 years
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
At this point opticals aren't necessary. SD Card readers would be a plus.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
We don't purchase machines often enough to have preferred brands. Which ever company is currently pumping out solid gear is fine by me.
