Looking for a mouse with a good scroll wheel

I'm getting sick of my razer naga (which has a dying scroll wheel and the z-axis issue makes me want to pull my hair out) and I am looking for a new mouse. Does anyone (with real world experience with the mice they recommend) know of any good mice with solid scroll wheels? I would like a big flat one that is textured and heavy to scroll but not exactly stiff. Price is irrelevant. Don't really mind what brand it is as long as isn't Madcatz and stuff. Preferred grip type is a palm/fingertip.

Sensor can not have any z-axis issues (That rules out pretty much every razer mice that uses the philips twin eye laser sensor which is in almost every mice they make. The only ones that don't use it which I can think of off the top of my head are the deathadder (which has a flawless sensor) and the mamba)

theres a few new laser mice out atm that use the avango 8200 sensors.
if you want robust look at logitechs g502, zowie am, corsair and kova. all do hardwearing mice with metal spindles for there mousewheels to sit on.

unlike razer and a few other so called gaming peripheral manufacturers, logitech build quality mice that will last 5+ years easily... (my old g500 was sold to my bro in law after 2 years, he's had it 5 and is only now considering replacing it) but anything in there range from £30 up will probably fit your requirements as they do use solid wheels and spindles on there better mice.

if you do go with another brand dont buy a mouse with a lit up scroll wheel. this feature tells you the whole wheel is made from plastic and...

Yes I've been looking specifically at the G502 and the M65. The G502 has great looks and a wonderful sensor. It also has a hyperscroll mode. The M65 has a very nice scroll wheel with a decent sensor but I've heard Corsair is a bit lacking on their firmware. I was thinking of an intellimouse since they just came back on newegg about a month ago but I'm not sure about their scroll. I've tried 2 intellimice in my life and they both felt pretty different. I might just get a G502.

If you want you should give this mouse a tryhttp://. I currently own it and after owning a Razer Death Adder and a M.M.O 7 I got to say I like this mouse a lot better. The scroll wheel has a little clicky feel when you turn it so it allows me to switch weapons accurately in FPS games. I know its an unheard of brand and the wall of text on amazon looks suspicious but I recommend it.

I'm very familiar with those kinds of mice. No offense, as you said before sometimes they can surprise you and surpass even some brand names in quality. But I've owned one before and it too had a pixart sensor (which is the OEM default for those sorts of brands). It was okay and had a good build quality (well for $3 it did) but it bugged me having no customer service even if it was just for a $3 mice I got off ebay. Also I was sorta embarassed when I told my friends what mouse I had. I can't remember the name of the mouse for the life of me but I am well aware that the same company who made it is the supplier for CyberPower PC's OEM mice. With this prebuilt comes the same exact mouse I used to own.

mate if you open that mouse up you will find the mouse wheel is made of plastic. the spindle it sits on is also plastic, so within about 10,000 clicks (could be way less) the middle mouse it will stress fracture on the spindle. ive seen this on dozens of cheaper so called gaming mice... even the anchor mouse i gave a glowing review 2 went after 18 months. its a serious design in flaw in a lot of mice in the 10-30 price brackets...
