Hi there Chase Lendry,

What is your current drive? As far as I understand your question is which of the two drives to be your primary one and which to be used as a secondary storage for your videos.

I would say that your primary drive, should have more RPM than the secondary one. In case you decide to go with WD, as the guys already suggested, I would say that WD Green will be a nice option for storing your large files over there. It is designed to be used as a secondary storage and has power efficient characteristics.

The WD Black that was already mentioned, offers both capacity and fast performance. It is considered to be a premium product as it has 5 years of warranty. I would say that this hard drive is more suitable to be a...
I honestly never recommend Seagate, they make budget-level hardware. I don't think they're that good. Right now 1 tb is the sweet spot for value, but if you need 2 tb I will always point folks in this direction: http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Cache-Desktop-WD2003FZEX/dp/B00FJRS628/

More money but I trust WD a lot more than Seagate.

Hi there Chase Lendry,

The WD Black that was already mentioned, offers both capacity and fast performance. It is considered to be a premium product as it has 5 years of warranty. I would say that this hard drive is more suitable to be a primary one and have the OS and heavier programs and games installed on it.
Regarding your question of how you can move everything from the old HDD to the new one, I would say that you can do so with a HDD cloning software.

Here are some useful links:

I would say that the slow transfer is caused by the camera not by the HDD. Your current HDD is a good one for a primary drive.
So, it is up to you. First option for you is to take WD Green, just plug it in and use it as a secondary storage. Your second one is to get WD Black, clone your current HDD on it and swap them.

For secondary storage I point people in the direction of WD Blue, green is incredibly slow.

The 32 and 64 is probably referring to the cache size. That's a chunk of the drive that is used to store frequently used files for fast access. More is usually better.

Ok so i got my 2tb black (WD) in and did the software and all was great except when i went to my bios i could not change the boot drive... Any idea what to do.
Also it says that the black is my primary partition now?

So you see both drives in the BIOS right? As the cloning process was successful, you can try detaching your old drive so the WD Black be the only HDD in your PC. After that you can attach the other drive again and make it a slave one.

Let me know if that worked,
