Looking for a new GPU.

Hi there, my GPU (GTX260) is toast, and I want to buy a new one, my processor is an E8400 2 core 3GHz
Motherboard is: GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L
I'm willing to spend around 170$

The maximum I'd recommend in your case is a Radeon 7790 or a GTX 650 Ti, anything above that wouldn't pair too well with your Core 2 Duo

Just another question, there are 2 versions of the redeon 7790, one with 1gb and another with 2gb, which one is the optimal one for my pc?

I would go with the 2gb if it isn't too much more expensive than the 1gb version

Nope, 2gb aint do no better than 1gb on gtx 650ti. If you pick a gtx 760 then i'd say yeah, but wait it already has 2gb as minimum.

^As I said, if it's not too much more expensive, a 760 with an E8400 is just silly (I know what you mean though), also there are 4gb versions of the 760 if you are curious
