[SOLVED] Looking for a new laptop for work. I need help, guys.

Hello, everyone;

Paul here. I am a high school teacher, and I had been teaching from home due to Voldemort, and now my boss wants me to go to the school to teach from there, even though the students will still remain at home. Unfortunately, I don't have any mobile device, and the school doesn't have any equipment that I can borrow, so I am forced to get myself a laptop, because I will be working with Google Meet, and using it on an IPad is a nightmare. So, here I am, knowing nothing about laptops or anything of that sort. I have around 650 US dollars, and I am humbly asking for your advice on the best laptop that I can get considering I would never use it for gaming or video editing or anything that would put any real stress on in. My only needs would be something good enough to keep up with Meet sessions of around 20 to 40 students with their camera and my own turned on at all times, sharing my screen to show videos and some moderate browsing here and there.

I apologize in advance if this isn't the right area to ask these sorts of questions. Any ideas are welcome.

I'm going to assume new, unless you specify that you wouldn't mind used. Also how are you with performing your own upgrades? Often time it is cheaper to buy laptops with hard drives (rather then SSDs) and empty ram slots and get your own parts.

Quite a few lower end CPUs available brand new, mostly 10th gen i3 and other Ryzen offerings. Nothing with quite the feature set of the two above. Webcam quality is always hit or miss at the lower end, so maybe budget the remaining $50 for a discrete webcam (also easier to move around)

You should also check with your school about using a monitor along with the laptop, having dual screens is a huge benefit especially during remote use so you can have content and presentations on different screen as well as ability to check notes, emails, other programs at the same time.
