Looking for a new PSU!

Good day everyone!

I am looking to buy a new PSU as when I disconnect my computer's cable from the power point, it doesn't seem to boot even after its second try. Usually it takes around 40 minutes for it to work, strangely...

So basically, my rig is as follows:

MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-D3
CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU Cooler: CM Seidon 120V
GPU: Asus R9 270X
HDD: 1 7200rpm
SSD: 250gb samsung evo

My current PSU is some Cooler Master rip-off which I shamefully have, and I fear for the rest of my components with this PSU. Here is the exact PSU model: "COOLER POWER 850W ATX PSU (P4N9-N)"

Also, the on/off switch doesn't work behind the PSU, which is an additional problem.

My question to you all, what PSU would you recommend to me?

I am looking for a modular (semi-modular will suffice), 750w+ PSU. I am tedious about overclocking (will do when I comprehend it perfectly), and could in the future cross-fire my 270X. I'd say my budget be under $180, no more. The less, the better.

There shouldn't be any issues crossfiring 2 270x's with it and overclocking is somewhat pointless. I find that my AMD processors run smoother when I turn off TurboCore. Mantle will compensate for the processor in xfire mode even though it is goofy.

Top brands I would recommend are XFX and Seasonic they're some of the leaders in the industry when it comes to PSUs I believe Rosewill also makes great PSUs

EDIT: Post below is "eh". i'd stay away from corsair their PSUs have a tendency to suck major ass Ive had 2 one DOA and the other dead after about 2 months

Haha, proves my friend is wrong perhaps! He said that Corsair was one of the best as its components were very "high-grade".

It'll be in my list to consider. But Corsair will be on the bottom of the list after seeing the previous comment.

That PSU comments on the Nvidia SLI, but I am using a AMD GPU atm. Are you sure that it'd be sufficient?

Hopefully I can find the PSU's recommended on some online store excluding newegg as they don't ship to Australia :(

Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($159.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Total: $159.00
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

this is one of the best 750w and full modular. for your setup even with crossfire and serious overclocking on the gpu's will be more than enough. prior to the power problems was FX 8350 running smoothly? you most probably wont be able to o/c with that mobo!what is the specific rev. (reversion)?

Why didn't you say so ;)

Any of these are great quality and all under $180 and all modular/semi.

Crossfiring 2 r9 270's is no problem :)

Two r9 270's will use around 280w and your CPU is 125w at stock.

If you wanted some extra room, I'd go for the 850w Antec.

A tier list and all the seasonic/antec mentioned are near the top. Hope that's detailed enough for you :p
