I currently own 3 1920x1080p monitors but feel that i need an extra monitor above my existing three because my workspace can get cramped sometimes. Was wondering if this would be a viable thing to do, but more importantly, if there are any mounts for my situation.

My situation:
There is a glass wall directly behind my desk, so direct wall mounting unfortunately is out of the picture. Was thinking i am either going to have to find a mount that is high enough to hold a monitor above my existing one, or get a wall mount that extends out from a wall some distance, as there is a wall to my left but it is about 1 1/2 monitors distance... so i doubt that would be a very good solution.

For my extra monitor i was thinking of a 1440p ultra wide monitor

Thanks in advance for any inputs

I have almost the exact setup as what you wanted to do (see my rig http://pcpartpicker.com/b/zw9WGX). I have 3 monitors below 23" [1920x1080] + 29" [2560x1080] + 23" [1920x1080] and a single 27" monitor [1920x1080] above the center ultrawide monitor. The 2 side monitors, as of now, still use its own stands. The center monitors, above and below, I used a Dual Vertical Monitor Desk Mount (clamp-type) as seen in one of the photos of my rig in the link above and in amazon: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486989339&sr=1-2&keywords=vivo+dual+vertical

Hope this helps!

OMG yes thankyou good sir, i completley forgot about these kinds of stands!

You're welcome! :) I personally don't like putting up wall mounts (despite my having a concrete back wall) as it limits my flexibility in case I decide later on to move/change things (i.e., the monitors or the whole desk) around. The clamp-type desk mounts are very sturdy and offers a lot of flexibility. Glad to be of help!
