That monitor is FreeSync(AMD) compatible, not G-Sync(Nvidia). And they are not intercompatible. For G-Sync, look at the Asus ROG Swift PG278Q or Asus PG279Q, if you can afford it.

Tbh now I'm not all too bothered with G-sync as so many amazing monitors have free sync. I can still use my GTX card just obviously with free sync turned off

Why on earth would you do that? Have you actually experienced adaptive sync technology?
