Question Mounting a flashgun on a flexible tendril ?

Not sure about the purpose of this thread.

Is there some sort of digital camera/light problem and the question is if using or mounting lights to the side of the lens will resolve the problem.

Lens mounted ring lights are the standard for macro photography. They have existed for a LONG time. Wires for the electrical connections are much simpler than optical paths for the emitted light flash. A flexible flashlight-like extension allows you to position the light source differently.

Maybe for video that could work. Your title asks about "flash" not video light. Those are two VERY different things.

Google the words Flash Grip. I got one for my digital SLR. Feels great in the the hands when mounted on the camera with a flashgun attached.

and why would you need a tendril to power the flash? you can just use a cable. unless you mean it will hold the weight of the flash then you back to overengineering

There is basically zero free space inside.
