So I've been browsing the web but I am not a shark so I came up with some questions.

I build my computer quite a long time ago and I chose to get a 4tb HDD back then so I wouldn't have to upgrade if I ran out of space. Thing is I didn't make it GPT and so I only have 2 tb. Well now I've installed windows 10 on an ssd on the side and was wondering if there was a way to convert w/o losing data (My hopes are not high).

As far as I understand installing windows will clear the harddrive and you can convert it, but I don't want to install windows on my hdd.

Thanks in advance and sorry for maybe sounding stupid.

Solution
well when you are in windows open cmd (as admin) to open in admin right click run as admin

cmd will open now type diskpart press enter
now type list disk press enter it will show all the drives in your system

ok so look at the disk you want to convert it will be in mb not gb so yeah
for example if my hdd was disk one id type select disk 1
if it was disk 2 id type select disk 2 get it

now once it says disk (the number) has been selected type clean

then it will say sucessfully cleaned now type convert gpt and now wait once its done type exit

hope that helped

Well I mostly have games which I can easily download and then some python programs and such so that won't be a problem.
So do I just use the windows installment disc to do that and if yes do you have a small tutorial that describes where I enable it? (I was looking but I didn't know which was actually legit for me)..

Thanks

Doesn't feel good though to give full permission to a 3rd party program to do anything with my harddrive. I guess that would be the only way to keep all of your data though. Thanks.
