Looking for awesome, affordable maxi tower with room for 6 x 3.5 HDDs + 2 x SSDs.

Hi,

I'm building a home media server with 6 x 3.5 HDDs and 2 x SSDs.

HDDs: Western Digital Red 2TB
Graphics card: Simple, fanless.
CPU: Xeon. Will be doing some transcoding (probably creating some heat).

Need a suitable casing with good cooling. Budget: ca. 120 USD.

I know coolermaster has some nice cases with filtered fans in front of the HDDs. But I haven't found any with fans in front of all 6 HDDs and 2 SSDs.

Would you recommend using 5.25" -> 3.5" adapters?

Is it ok to let some drives live in the 5.25 bays?

Maybe the "Antec Three Hundred Two" would be fine for this purpose?

or the "Cooler Master CM 690 III" (the HDD/SSD combo cage can be switched between 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives by adjustable trays without any screw)

The Fractial Define R4 case is very nice and has room for 8 3.5 drives AND 2 2.5 drives behind mobo tray.

Standard retail is 140 CAD for the case, but I know USA newegg has it on sale often so hopefully Newegg CA does as well.

Go on Newegg and look up the Thermaltake Core V71 Extreme Full Tower. If you get it don't forget to buy the 4th 200 mm fan. It comes with 3 200mm fans and 1 140mm fan and has air holes all over and great filtration.
