looking for best configuration

men im confused between two configs..should i buy the i7 4790 with gigabyte gtx 750ti or the i5 4460 with msi gtx 960 4gb
PS:the config that will be chosen will be dedicated for gaming purposes

id go for the i5 config, I think you'll see far more balanced performance that way. a 750 Ti and an i7 are totally disproportionate.

one with 960. a good cpu is not not that good without a good gpu (in gaming)

i figured you were, an i5 is more than sufficient for almost anything you could want to do, especially if its hyper threaded. They say the rule of thumb is 1/3 of your budget should be in your GPU, it is more important for performance than your CPU, mind you that doesnt mean you can have a crap CPU.

the most expensive thing in a gaming computer should always be the GPU, not the CPU. i7s are not for gaming, they are meant for rendering, video editing, etc. They are overkill for gaming. Get the i5 and the 960 or if you can afford, an R9 380 4GB. 2GB is becoming limiting at 1080p, especially games like GTA V.

Yes exactly what I was trying to say. The bigger the buffer the better you will be in the future. For example I have a 970 with an FX 6300 and I get stellar performance in almost anything I do.

The i5 and GTX 960 is more balanced. Pairing a high-end i7 with a weak GTX 750 Ti is a total waste of CPU. You'll only benefit from an i7 when using SLI or GTX 980 Ti, TITAN X, etc. and rendering projects.

i7 is nice but with a 750 the gpu will bottleneck the system.
go with a more balance build, don't be blinded by the i7, i5 is good and cheaper
