Help!
I would like to upgrade my ancient and horrible Radion 9200se, to the best graphics card that is compatible with my system, without being bottle necked by the P4 3.2Ghz cpu. Also should I go with Agp 8x or PCI? Once again I'm looking for the best GPU under 50 bucks that won't get bottle necked by my 3.2 Ghz P4 Hyper Threading CPU and without a PSU change.

BUDGET RANGE: $0-50

USAGE:
*Light games like soldier front, crossfire, counter strike, runescape, WoW, to, COD 4 or 6?, assasins creed 1 and possibly 2? Other game recommendations are welcomed 😀

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY:
* Input voltage - 100-127 v ~ 6 A, 200-240 v ~ 3 A
* Max. output wattage - 250W
*GPU is a ATI Radeon 9200SE 8x AGP card up to 128MB DDR video memory

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
*The system is a HP Pavilion a475c
*3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 HT CPU
*1.5 Gig of ram
*250 GB HD
*MOBO is an ASUS P4SD-LA PES
*One AGP 8X/4x slot
*Three PCI slots

PARTS PREFERENCES:
*Which ever works best with my system..

Solution
@valeman I used a psu calculator and I should be ok...a hard drive doesn't even come close to a GPU or CPU when it comes to power consumption lol.. I'm not worried about that.. and ya I'm considering agp too.. PCI blows..and I need the extra bandwidth that comes with agp.. Maybe an HD3850?

@GI..ya I know COD 4 wouldn't run well on my cpu 🙁 What about WoW, Runescape, Combat arms, and Soldier Front at high levels? Also I would like to be able to view 1080p hd videos on youtube...

You guys how would a Geforce GT 520 PCI compare to a Radeon HD3850 or other AGP card? I heard the Radeon HD3850 is the most powerful agp card?

So what should I go for ? a GT 520 (a pretty good gpu, but not good on the PCI platform) or an AGP card?
And if AGP what should I go for besides an HD 3850(they're pretty rare and expensive)?

Solution

Alright cool :) what about a slight upgrade? between the HD3450 you sent and the 3850?? What about a 3650?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sapphire-100258L-HD-3650-512MB-AGP-VGA-Refurbished-/150788720037?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item231bb545a5#ht_1078wt_905

found this one...this would give better performance than the 3450 w/o bottle necking like the 3850 correct?

I wouldn't buy from ebay because i bought few items from there most of the time it gives me the wrong item and end up that user dont even have it. Pain to get the money back to.

Is also refurbished(repaired) so if you want to go for it. Get it.

My suggestion is Amazon. (Much Reliable) and cause 3850 AGP is very rare you wont find a good one on amazon. (Last time i check which was end of april 2012 it had a 3850 refurbished.) I dont know if is still there. (It will be more than 50$)

Other stuff
3850 AGP is faster than my Shappire 4650 AGP and HIS 4650 AGP / HIS 4670 AGP) I did not go for 3850 because all i see is repaired HD 3850 AGP. (No Used or New Cards)
The Visontek 3450 AGP is for mostly movies/videos as said on the reviews (NOT Good for games might even lag Soldierfront 16players) / Another AGP Powercolor 3450 AGP dont bother buying that it get high fast and it burns out) But if your willing buy Radeon 3xxx you will have to upgrade your Power Supply.

Reason i went for Shappire 4650 AGP x8 because is been awarded few times by other company and good stable perfromance .

Yup at first it worked out on the calculator http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine
then I put "Capacitor Aging" to the max (50%) since it's a very old psu... then boom! my requirements jumped from 249 watts to 300 watts, so now I'm going to have to buy a new PSU as well.. found a few.. but if you guys can make some recommendations.. I'm not too worried about it lasting a long time.. 6 months min would be ok Since I will be getting a 27'' iMac and build a new i7 rig..

found a few..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817170010 this one has pretty good reviews but the top fan would be blocked by my case?? can i flip it upside down?

this ones pretty good
