Looking for cheap modern parts to build comp for Internet & M$ Office

hey guys iam looking to build cheap rigs for me and my 2 friends for school. i want modern cheap parts like 775 boards or modern AMD Boards.nothing prior to 2004 please. I want Pentium 4s and up. Good Amds too. I want decent ram 667 to 800. prefer a small case. a decent vid card for photoshop and old games like a 6600gt or something. Decent LCD too 15'' and up.

-iam looking for the cheapest parts possible nothing should be above 40$ except lcd. iam really looking for your really low end junk.
-Show me your single and dual cores Intel or AMD; nothing below 2.7ghz.
-small cases please--brand or not.
-minimum gbs for hdd is 160
-iam looking for about 2-4gigs of ram
-show me ur low end gpus. a 6600gt is still pretty good. nothing above a 8800gt please
-300-500 watt PSU

How much are you looking to spend altogether? I have another post where I am selling a lot of what you need, but it is already assembled into a gaming rig. I might be tempted to parcel out some of the items. here is a copy of my other thread:

The motherboard includes everything pictured but the cheap cooling fan that came with it. don't know what happened to that. I'll also throw in a OCZ Vendetta CPU HSF if you want to remove the stock fan and OC the CPU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 20vendetta

I have an extra PS2 Kensington keyboard and optical Logitech USB mouse I can throw in as well, if you really need them.

Cost to build this system was just under $740. I will sell it for $500 OBO, plus shipping. I am located in Metropolitan Detroit if anyone is interested in local pickup. I'll knock off another $50 to keep the hard drive and you can install your own HD + OS.

Hi esquire, iam not looking to spend over 200 bucks for each rig. I really want low end stuff. The most demanding thing ill probably run will be Counter strike or something. Core 2s are too much for me A p4 or X2 will be more then enough. Thank you though i really do appreciate your awesome deal for your rig.

I have an intel board + 1gb + 3ghz p4 ht for $65 shipped. Not sure what the model is, i could get it for you when I get home. It had that Q6700 in it that I sold you, so i know it works. The cpu and ram were both in a dell optiplex gx620 I had that the mobo went out on, tested cpu and ram in another optiplex and they work fine.

are you looking to build some machines to build them... or are you wanting to get some cheap ones for use?

I've had alot of good luck w\ cheap dell optiplex systems on ebay. GX620's, 320's, 745's all have pci express slots... and there are literally tons of them on ebay at cheap prices. There are alot 745's w\ low end 1.8 c2d's for $50-150.

Best buy has an emachines package with celeron 420 and 19 inch monitor for $299 this week. Newegg.com has an HIS 4670 video card for $59.99 with free shipping after promo code. This video card will work with a 300w power supply, which is what you get with many oem systems.

whhaaaa.... I really like the 4670 ^^ it's perfect for lots of systems that don't have a large psu.

yeah i really wanna build a second system; using old parts that give me memories; i was an enthusiast in the p4 and 6600gt era. I want a sorta mobile comp i can customize bring over to friends houses and plug in to a big tv and play older games on emulators and also great pc games like GTA, diablo etc. Those small dells are pretty perfect--there like the size of an xbox 360. I know many ppl have spare parts they laying around. I am also helping my friends who need new comps for school

in the end i want about parts for 3 rigs. each with 4gigs of ram about a 500gb hdd's, decent video cards. Decent Cpus. AMD 64 X2s are perfect.
