Looking for easy fix

I have a [strike]acre[/strike] Acer laptop that has a broken screen I was wondering if I can use the screen for a Dell laptop to replace the Acer screen with or how to do this.

Unlikely as the screens are usually [strike]system[/strike] make/model specific due to cabling.

HP and Dells have proprietary hardware, meaning you won't be able to do that. What make and model do you have and do you live in the states?
