Hello all!
I am planning on building a pc (mainly for gaming) with a budget under $1000, and would love any insight/feedback that you have to offer! Here are the essentials:
Motherboard: Asus Z87 Pro (V Edition)
SSD: (Already have this department taken care of)
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
GPU: Asus GTX 760
RAM: G Skill Ripjaws (2x4GB)
PSU: Corsair CX600M
Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Optical Drive: Asus Black 12x BD-R
Case:CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced
(I am also in the search for a new monitor for around 100 if anyone has any suggestions!)
Thanks!

Unless you are planning on a overclocking (which is not necessary except for the fun of it/synthetic bragging rights) you probably don't need that 212 EVO or the super high end motherboard.

The stock cooler on the 4670K is pretty efficient, particularly in a roomy case and the 212 EVO is absolutely massive if you've never seen one in person (think half a loaf of bread for size).

A FANTASTIC motherboard is the MSI Z87-G45 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130693).

Just those two changes should free up enough cash to step up to a GTX 770 2GB card as well :)

Thanks for the input! I wasn't quite sure if the cpu needed another fan so it is good to know that it is not necessary. Would you recommend any other cooling system besides what the case provides?

The scout supports a number of extra 120mm fans. You might want to pick up one for the top rear mount (as an exhaust fan) to help pull some additional heat out from the top. Below are some (with red LEDs) that are the right size.

I have personally had good luck with this one, but others might have more experience.
