Looking for FX 8350 for below $200

The FX-8350 has been priced as $200 on Newegg.com for a while now, but I just don't want to buy it for that much. (I bought the Radeon 7870 right before its price was dropped by 30 bucks) The lowest price I've seen is I think $180 but that was only in store pick-up.

Also, after the new release of higher end CPUs, didn't AMD announce that the FX-8350 should be sold at $160? I read that in an article, but no prices have dropped. Does anyone know where I can get a good price on a new, sealed, and unlocked 8350?

Thank you.

Solution

They dropped the prices on all CPUs except the 8 cores...which they considered priced extremely competitively, and I would agree @ $180 for the 8350.

Microcenter is the store I mentioned :/ and yeah I guess I'll have to go with Amazon or Newegg... So do you know anything about the price drop AMD announced?

eBay is great for computer parts! Also, the Microcenter around here has sales almost every weekend on CPUs and motherboads (that's where I got my parts for my PC).

If you give it enough time, it will definitely go down relatively soon. I bought an 8350 for $170 when it was on sale, but of course all sales eventually end. Although, I'm not sure if $30 is enough savings for you to buy it.

Everyone on eBay wants way over spot for that CPU, I've looked.

$170 would be perfect, even $190 I would settle for. So has no one heard of that price drop I mentioned?

Here's one for $190, don't know how reputable the site is though. http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?p=FX-8350BOX&c=fr&pid=9489cb948de133a7f3bb6b1a87ca38807ef0c91f8ff23f7d5c03d5ac21725a95&gclid=CN-n4_35orgCFdBaMgodWG0Acw

Ah, I see. But why would they announce that, when the 8-cores are the only ones priced above $160 anyway?

More specifically, the 8350 is the only one priced over $160. The 8320 is usually around $150-155.

EDIT: When FX 4350/6350 launched MicroCenter ran a month long special on the 8350 @ $169.99, maybe that is what they were talking about...

Okay. I guess I'll have to settle for $200 at Newegg. Thanks everyone for all the answers, I'll try to pick a best solution. It may be hard considering this wasn't a help/tech question. God bless!
