I'm using a gtx 1080 and an i7 4790. I want to replace my 1080p Monitor with a 1440p one. Now I'm a little overwhelmed by the loads of "gaming" screens on the market. Can anybody recommend a Screen that would serve my setup.

I'd prefer 60Hz and 1ms but I don't know if that's possible if I'm looking for a Monitor suited for gaming as all the offers I get start at 120Hz.

I don't play competetive games so 60Hz are all I need.

I have a budget of 300-500€

I would still get a 144hz panel and try it, if you don't like it set it to run at 60hz and its no different than a 1440p 60hz only panel. Depending on the game and the framerate you are able to achieve 60fps+ with no vsync can still feel very smooth with limited tearing.

I am not familiar with really any 1440p 60hz monitor. They aren't typically advertised toward gamers, mostly content creators and the like. That does not mean they cant be very good for gaming but I just don't know enough about any particular 1440p 60hz panel to recommend something.

Not sure why you would prefer a 60hz monitor, you can get a 1440p 144hz monitor within your budget. I personally prefer to have a refresh rate over 60hz in any game that will run at over 60fps, high refresh rate panels are certainly not only for "competitive" gamers. I'm certainly not competitive yet I own a 1440p 144hz monitor and make very good use of it.

The Acer - XG270HU is a good monitor. The AOC - AG241QX is also pretty good for cheaper.

Thanks in advance. I don't know how it feels when the framerate is all over the place because it can't lock to 144fps (without GSync). I'd rather go safe with a locked 60Hz
