Looking for good motherboard for I7-6700k and some CPU's

Hello TH I am hoping you can help me figure out which would be better for the high end gaming pc i am building.
I'm looking into building a new pc and am looking at the
Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 95W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel® HD Graphics 530
and want to know what would be the best motherboard to go with it?

also want to know if the I7-6700k is better than
Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I74790K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600
which is what i have been looking at.

First the 6700K is a little better than the 4790K and depending on budget from low to high might look at the Asus Z170-A, then up too the Z170 Pro Gaming then on up the Z170 Hero (that's the one I grabbed, been playing for about a week now 😉 great mobo! )

Tradesman1 hows that mobo working out for you is it still running good? I looked at the reviews and wasn't sure about that mobo.

No problems at all, have tried 3 air coolers and 3 AIOs, a half dozen GPU (including SLI and XFire combos) and DRAM up through 32GB at 3200 (Trident Z). Haven't oCed over 4.4 since I use AS and it it takes some time to cure, figure this CPU will be good to 4.6 - 4.7 at least 😉

seems it can take some abuse which is good.
What do you think of this mobo that i found recently to go with the 6700k cpu?

Haven't had one hands on yet, but spec wise looks good, and it's a GB (always a good thing I'll only do builds w/ GB, Asus and the Rock, if people insist on some other brand I send them elsewhere (if I know of anyone that will build with what they want 😉 )

Tradesman1, I decided to get Maximus VIII Hero with 6700k and thinking to use 32GB DRAM.
Considering you tried all possible combinations wich DRAM would you suggest? Is it better to go with 4x8 or 2x16?

Does it make any difference having 16GB or 32GB for a gaming pc?

Doubt if you'll see any difference between 16 and 32GB, unless a lot (a real lot running in the background like a bunch of VMs), if you do go 32GB I'd go the 2x16GB (less stress on the MC with 2 sticks vs 4 😉 )

Thanks, I might go with 2x8GB and save some money for GPU.
Is there a brand/model that you can recommend, because a lot of people were complaining about RAM issues with this board...
