Looking for good USB 3.1 hub with type-A connector preferably. Does anyone make them yet? I see some type-C hubs. Can I use type-C hub with an adapter C to A? If yes, which is a good reliable type-C USB 3.1 hub and the adapter? Please note, I want USB 3.1 and not USB 3.0.

Solution
I can for sure offer up some links to some products, however there's a little catch when it comes to items I would offer up.

But before all that, any particular reason it absolutely has to be 3.1 and not 3.0? are you using a system with an NVMe SSD that has ridiculous read speeds and have a plethora of external devices that you are plugging in all at the same time that have the ability to write data at a rate that's faster than 5 gigabits per second?

Because if so, then yeah, 3.1 makes sense, otherwise USB 3.0 is all you'll need and you won't even be able to match the speeds that the connector and cable are capable of with most SSD's and plug in devices.

But if there's another more finite reason then please explain.

In short, so far I haven't been able to find anything that is 3.1 type A. And assuming you want 3.1 gen 2 with the 10 gigabit speeds that seems to be a type c thing only for the most part. Type A usb 3.1 seems to be Gen 1 which is just usb 3.0 but with some improvements to the power output for powering external devices and to better guarantee the 5 gigabit speeds of 3.0

So again though, more information as to what specifically you want 3.1 for will help me and others to better help you find what you are looking for.
