Hi I am building a pc and just ordering parts. I am wondering what would be an ideal CPU cooler for the intel i5 4590 . Bear in mind I am not looking for a top of the range cooler just one tat will do the job with my CPU.
The stock cooler does, but it's noisy at startup. A CM 212 Evo will keep it cool and it should be quiet. A CM TX3 will also keep it cool enough, but it will be noisy at full load.
Stock cooler will do the job if you are not overclocking and your ambient temp is not too high. If you need to get an aftermarket cpu cooler just because you need a quieter one is a valid point. There are different brands and prices that will do the job, you should keep in mind that some are very large and you'll need a roomy PC case to fit it in. Here are some recommendations there are many more you can check out:
Noctua NH-D14
Phanteks PH-TC14PE
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Cooler Master V6 and V8
Zalman CNPS9900DF
Some Low profile if you have a small or narrow case:
Scythe Big Shuriken
Cooler Master Gemini 2
Noctua NH-L9i
Zalman CNPS90F
Zalman CNPS8900
There are some fanless cpu coolers if you need a completely quiet one. here is one that seems capable for OC power-full CPU's but is really expensive, here it is:
NoFan CR-95C IcePipe Fanless CPU Cooler
There are many more it just depends on budget, noise and looks.
