looking for ideas on how to finish my installation

i bought an acer aspire e1-531 with windows 8 that needed to be activated. I decided for format it and install windows 7 but all the partitions cannot install windows as they are GPT. The problem is i had already deleted everything on the laptop including windows8 so now my laptop wont switch on unless theres a windows 7 disk in the dvd rom. How do i change the partitions to NTFS when i cant even log on? Need to use windows 7 soon. Help

Using your Win 7 Install disk, can you get as far as the 'Where do you want to install Windows' screen?
Win 7 should be able to handle GPT
See Option 2 step 2 to revert to MBR

Meanwhile others have had problems installing 7 on that model, don't know if/when they were resolved! Might give you something to work on, though...

[/quotemsg]i changed the hard drive controller to IDE and then it installed hope that wont cause any problems in the future. If i enable secure boot remove IDE the laptop wont even log on it says no booting device found so i left it like that.
