It's about time for me to upgrade my CPU I think... I recently got a Radeon R9 270 GPU, and would like to purchase a new CPU to go with it. I haven't bought a motherboard and CPU before (outside of an actual computer), so I don't really know what I'm looking for in terms of size. I guess I've got two cases to choose from. One is from an Asus CM5571, and the other is from an HP p7-1436s.
I don't really have a tight budget at the moment since I'm kind of just trying to get an idea of what's out there at the moment. However, I'd like to spend ~200 dollars. Also, I don't really have a preference between AMD or Intel, but I'm leaning more towards AMD just because of it's price. I'd also like to overclock, but if there's a really good CPU and Mobo combo that doesn't allow overclocking, it's not a deal breaker.
From browsing on Amazon and Newegg, I noticed AMD released an 8 core processor overclock-able to 5GHz for only 120 dollars. It looks really promising. On top of that, according to newegg, it's good to "Combine it with an AMD Radeon™ R9 series graphics card for the ultimate gaming experience" which is good for me considering I have a Radeon R9 series graphics card.
So, what are your guys' thoughts?
