i recently received a Q6600 for free along with 700w corsair psu, saphire 5750 gfx card, 2x 1tb seagate 7200rpm hd's, crummy hp case, and liteon dvdrw. I want to Oc this Q6600 so i am thinking of just picking up a CM212. trying to keep budget low because this socket/pros are long dead. i just purchased a ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX. I am wondering if i should return it before i use it and try to find a p45 mobo if the ability to oc is greater then the p35 chipset boards. Thank you for any advice!!

Try it unless you can get all your money back. I assume you already have the ddr2; if not try finding some used on craigslist or other sources instead of buying new. If you can't find any reasonably priced, then find a 775 board that uses ddr3 on ebay or craigslist. Lots of folks upgrading this week with black friday deals, so they will be unloading their stuff. If you have the ddr2, then try the p5k first; it may work fine.
