I was looking to replace a Surfboard SB6141 but wasn't sure what to get. My Cox plan is up to 500 mb/s
Router is a AC1750 Netgear

I was hoping to keep it around 80, or even below if possible but I get that's probably not doable with how expensive everything is these daysI've had an SB6141 and currently have an SB8200 which I've had for a couple of years and yet it is currently their newest Surfboard product and is both DOCSIS 3.1 and supports 10Gbps speeds.
Now if you want to or are willing there are definitely better, but much more expensive modems, that support DOCSIS 4.0, but with your plan there really isn't much reason to pay for one.
But then again, looking to the future it almost never hurts to buy products that support newer technologies so that when ISPs upgrade speeds and plans or add features that older hardware doesn't support you don't have to again replace something that's still working fine.
How much are you willing to spend on a modem?
I'll try that one. Thanks for the helpRight. So I agree. Not going to get something worthwhile for that price. I think the SB8200 is a pretty good mix of price/value and quality/reliability. Probably also the best modem you're going to find at this price or lower.
