Hello
I have two questions and i hope i get a clear answers, and thanks in advance.

Frist my toshiba satellite s50 A 10W, doesn't turn on ( the power ) so i sent it to a local center and he told me the following, the laptop turn on for a few minutes and the cpu start heating then shut down, so the motherboard is damaged, and need to replaced, so the question here, is he right?

The second question is, if he is right, i would like to know the compitable motherboard for the laptop, and it's price.

And any further tips you can enlighten me with.

If the CPU is overheating the first step would be to take the CPU cooler off and see if it is still making good contact with the CPU and that the fan is still working. If the CPU is socketed and replaceable, and a bad CPU is suspected, then it could be replaced and tested.

If, after reassembly, it doesn't work, then yes a replacement is standard procedure on most laptops. These days most laptops are soldered together and the only replaceable components are RAM, Drives, and things like WiFi cards.

As for a compatible board, that would be one very similar to the one in it. Simply search for the laptop model and add the word motherboard on your favorite auction site. As for the price, whatever people are willing to pay. There might be multiple CPU and graphics options.

At that point it is usually best to just consider purchasing a new laptop.

I gave a quick look, but couldn't find much for that laptop. Might be a regional model.
