Hello there everyone! I need some advice on choosing a new air cooler for my Ryzen 9 5900x since my current cooler seems to have my cpu idling high(50 degrees celcius). Tried remounting and repasiting with different thermal paste with no noticeable changes. After doing some research, I've narrowed down my options to the Scythe Fuma3, DeepCool AK500 Digital, and the DeepCool Assassin 4. I've heard great things about each cooler, but I'm having a hard time deciding. Can anyone share their experiences or opinions on these coolers? I'm looking for efficient cooling performance and quiet operation. I want to try to avoid liquid cooling because of the added point of failure with the pump. I appreciate any insights or recommendations you can provide. Thanks in advance!

I'm running a 7950X under a Noctua NH-D15. A few days ago during a 36-hour video render it was sitting at 90C for hours on end with no ill effects.

Stop worrying about temperatures and buy the biggest cooler that will fit in your case. As they say in hot rodding, you can't beat cubes. A dual tower cooler will have more mass to absorb the heat. Two fans are often better than one.

Look at your fan curve in bios, it might be set to quiet or in general be set too low.
Once you are in bios also look at the CPU options and make sure the mobo isn't applying any "enhancements" overclocking your CPU.
PBO will apply higher settings than PB so it would increase the temps.

Also what others said, 50 degrees is not really something to worry about.
